you know how in episode 6 of star wars the super or mammoth death star gets hit on the command deck and it 'sinks' and hit the death star?...since when is there gravity in space or is it like the death star is so big it has its own gravitational pull? haha thats from family guy

Well until it comes on TMN I won't be wasting money on it. I really liked Enterprise series and it got cut off early for overexposure I think. Well I know I'm Treked the F out for now. They need to bring back Babylon 5 to give us a break from non-entertaining combat in space.

what Turbolasers fire is unknown, but what is known is that they are powerful with no set frequency or modulation of any kind, meaning that remodulation of shields will not have any impact on their effectiveness, and the Borg would not be able to adapt.
a Turbolaser bolt has the force of hundreds of gigatons compressed into it, making for a deceptively small blast, but even a single shot can be more powerful than a thousand quantum torpedoes.

however, all this is a moot point, because the fact is that star wars lasers don't shoot lasers, the term refers to an internal mechanism much like the gunpowder in a gunpowder rifle, a gunpowder rifle doesn't shoot gunpowder (except in the case of the smoke and soot that is shot out of the barrel from the exploding powder) and a star wars Laser certainly doesn't shoot lasers. it fires something completely different, something MUCH more powerful than any phaser.

Star Trek shields are resistant to lasers, but not immune, in numerous episodes they have gone up against races that use lasers and draw more power into the shields, or focus the shields stronger in front, even the BORG use Lasers to devastating effect on Federation ships, though granted they usually drain the shields using a tractor beam. |
