i adore this movie even though it really should have had a different title since it's a different story--a mixture of mansfield park, jane's letters, and the director's own imagination.

3 as far as I know. One was made as a miniseries for the BBC in the 1980s, then this one, and finally the new 2007 ITV adaptation

What were you going to use a birth control in that period. Even condoms were porous and you could still get pregnant and the rudimentary information about reproduction, most people didn't know how to prevent it. Abortions did occur but they didn't always work and the rhythm method, forget about it. You would have had a lot of children or never had sex. Women got pregnant and had children, it was what we were believed to be made for at that time.

I know I realised that too, lmao! 9 kids going on there, but not being funny though, if I was in that era and a poor person, I would just have one child, so we could survive, as food was scarce etc, honestly...Common SENSE!

A normal human being can/will "naturaly" give birth to more than 15 humans. More often a women will have from 2-8 children. More than three children is only uncommon because of the un-natural, man-made creation: abortion or birth-control. |
