Well you can "believe" that stepping in front of a truck won't kill you But I KNOW better. Knowing comes as a result of the experience or things we have done. Belief, suspicion and superstition is what people do when they lack the experience that would provide knowledge. Doesn't the Christian bible say to "be still and know"?
