"I Swear" is a ballad written by Gary Baker and Frank J. Myers that became a hit for two acts in 1994. Initially it was a number one song on the U.S. Hot Country Singles Tracks chart for John Michael Montgomery at the beginning of the year. His version crossed over to pop radio and climbed to #42 on the Billboard Hot 100. In Sweden, the All-4-One version hit #1. The All-4-One version is slightly different than John Michael Montgomery's - in that the line "And when there's silver in your hair" from the second verse was replaced by "And when just the two of us are there." "I Swear" won a Grammy Award in 1995 for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and enjoyed an eleven-week run at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and a seven-week run at #2 in the UK. It was also nominated for Song Of The Year, as was the single "I Can Love You Like That,". The group were popular before the #1 success of "I Swear", as their previous single "So Much in Love" had reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier in the year.
