It really depends what features you're looking for, and which system you prefer - I have limited time here on youtube, but again feel free to discuss this further on the cameralabs forums...

Thanks for your advice Gordon. I checked the verdict and although the 40d is superior to the d80 I think I'll go with the d80 because it is cheaper. And after all I am a newbie and this will be my first dslr. Last semi-pro camera I handled was my dad's old russian Zenit wicha had film...and that was about the age of 12 :-). So i think the d80 is sufficient for me. Don't you agree?

Check out the verdict page of my 40D review at cameralabs . com - I've compared their features there... as for CCD vs CMOS, I really wouldn't worry too much about it. Just look at the results and features of each camera and go for whatever you prefer. Feel free to discuss this further on the cameralabs forums...

Hi Gordon . I'm having trouble picking a camera. I can't decide between the nikon d80 and the canon 40d. By the way can you tell me the difference between CCD and CMOS? I'm a newbie in photography. I mean is there a big difference in quality or just a slight one? Please give me a pm with your answer. Thank you in advance and have a nice day.

i have a D80 and i'm actually really happy with it
also a D70
but i think i prefer the D80
what do you think?

does the nikon d80 have a proxmity senesor, movie mode, or rotate info like the d60?

Check out the verdict page of my D90 review at cameralabs . com which comopares them in detail. If you want the extra features of the D90, go for it. If not, go for the D80!

Hi Gordon,
I'm deciding between D80 and D90, I want this camera to last me maybe 4-5 years. I do not care much for Live View or Movie Recording that the D90 has, but am wondering if it is worthwhile regardless.
